Getting Started
Which trades does VoxBuildr support?
Roof Plumbing, Concreting, Fencing, Plumbing, HVAC (Air Conditioning), Tiling, Solar, Carpentry, Painting, and Electrical. Each trade has its own AI drawing styles, material databases, price lists, and completeness checker rules.
How do I create my first job?
Tap + New Job on the home screen. Describe the job using voice (tap the mic button) or type it in. Optionally snap or upload photos. Choose your material and profile style, then tap Generate. The AI creates a technical drawing, bill of materials, and costed quote in under 30 seconds.
What's the difference between New Job, New Order, and Quick Estimate?
New Job generates an AI drawing + full BOM + quote. New Order creates a materials order without a drawing — great for reorders. Quick Estimate gives you a ballpark price from just a voice description — perfect for phone enquiries when you need a rough figure fast.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account gets 30 days of full access for free. No credit card required. After 30 days, pick a plan to keep going.
Quoting & Pricing
Can I set my own pricing?
Yes, on the Pro and Business plans. Go to My Prices to set custom prices per material for your trade. Your markup percentage can be set as a default in Settings or overridden per job.
What's the difference between Markup and Fabricator pricing mode?
Markup mode (default for most trades): Materials + Labour, then apply your markup percentage to get the sell price. Simple and clean. Fabricator mode (default for Roof Plumbing, Fencing, Solar): Shows a "Cost to Fabricate" subtotal before markup — because you're manufacturing products, not just installing them. Switch between modes in Settings.
What does the customer see on the quote PDF?
Only the total price — Subtotal, GST (or your local tax), and Total. Your cost breakdown, markup percentage, and profit margins are never shown on any client-facing document. Those numbers are visible to you in the app only.
Can I edit the quote after the AI generates it?
Yes. Tap Edit Quote on the Job Preview screen to adjust line items, quantities, prices, tax rate, or set a manual total. You can also use Corrections to describe changes in plain English and regenerate.
How do I send a quote to a customer?
Tap Preview PDF to review the quote, then share it via the iOS share sheet — email, Messages, AirDrop, whatever you prefer. The quote comes from your email address, not ours. You can also send a more detailed Proposal with scope of work and terms.
Teams & Plans
What plans are available?
Solo ($29.99/mo) — full solo access including costed BOM, custom pricing, PDF quotes, AI assistant, and import. Pro ($49.99/mo) — everything in Solo plus multi-trade support, 3 team seats, and Pricing Insights. Business ($99.99/mo) — everything in Pro with unlimited team seats, shared price lists, and role-based access.
How do teams work?
On Pro or Business plans, invite team members via email. They get access based on their role — Quoters can create and price jobs, Installers capture jobs on site. Business plan owners manage everyone from one account with shared price lists and team-wide job history.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage your subscription through your device's app store settings (Apple App Store or Google Play). You keep access until the end of your current billing period. Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation.
Web Access
Can I access VoxBuildr on my computer?
Yes. Go to app.voxbuildr.com and sign in with the same email and password you use on your phone. You can create new jobs, record voice descriptions, upload photos, edit quotes, and share PDFs from any laptop or desktop browser.
Do I need to subscribe again for web access?
No. Your existing subscription covers both. Subscribe on iOS or Android once, then log in at app.voxbuildr.com with the same email — your plan and trial status come across automatically.
Can I start a trial or change plans from the web?
No — subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play so that billing and trials stay in one place. Start your 30-day trial from the mobile app, then use web for quoting on a bigger screen. To upgrade, downgrade, or cancel, use your device's subscription settings.
Which browser should I use?
Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox — any modern browser from the last two years. Voice capture uses your browser's built-in microphone permission, so allow access when prompted. Photo upload works from your laptop's file picker or by dragging and dropping images.
Privacy & Security
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Job photos, drawings, and quotes are private to your account with row-level security. We don't sell your data or use it for AI training. Voice is transcribed on-device using iOS Speech Recognition. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings and tap Delete Account at the bottom. This permanently removes your profile, all jobs, drawings, quotes, and team data. This action cannot be undone.
I need a refund. How?
Subscriptions are billed through the app store. Request a refund from Apple or through Google Play → Account → Order history. If you're having a technical issue, email us and we'll sort it out.
